Joan Houghton, 56, has been working at Sainsbury's, Redditch, Worcs, for 11 years.
Joan is passionate about great customer service, which plays a key part in her role as a cashier. She has a great rapport with customers. Her attitude and service don't stop when she leaves the store. Every week, on her way to work, she helps an elderly and partially sighted customer get to the Sainsbury's store.
Store manager Paul Farzam said: "Joan is a great ambassador for Redditch and Sainsbury's. We are passionate about respecting the people we work with and serve. Great customer service can be as little as a smile, but in Joan's case, she goes the extra mile to make a difference. We are very proud to have her in our team."
